Special Project

Clean Water Cargo: Bringing Clean Water, One Ride at a Time
Our Clean Water Cargo initiative is a mobile solution to a vital need—access to safe drinking water. Using our Bajaj Maxima Cargo, specially outfitted to carry up to 500 liters of water, we can reach underserved communities with clean water on the go. Each unit is equipped with Sawyer water filtration systems, in partnership with Waves for Water Philippines. These small yet powerful filters can turn most water sources into clean, safe, potable drinking water, making a real difference for families and communities without reliable access.
Wheelchair Project
In the Philippines, many institutions that care for children with disabilities struggle to secure the specialized wheelchairs these children need to improve their mobility and quality of life. The challenge of providing these essential devices is compounded by limited resources and the high cost of purchasing new wheelchairs.
To address this pressing need, the JVR Foundation partnered with The Volunteers Group to Send Wheelchairs to Overseas Children, a Japanese NGO that refurbishes and donates wheelchairs outgrown by handicapped children in Japan. This collaboration has proven to be a sustainable solution, giving Filipino children with disabilities access to life-changing mobility aids.
The project has garnered support from a range of organizations and institutions, including the Embassy of Japan, Hospicio de San Jose, Tahanang Walang Hagdanan, Philippine Cerebral Palsy Inc., Chosen Children, Elsie Gaches, Norfil Foundation, Missionaries of Charity, Create a Job for the Disabled, and Most Holy Trinity Parish, among many others.
Since the project began in 2009, over 1,000 refurbished wheelchairs have been distributed to children across the Philippines. These donations have not only helped improve the mobility of children but have also provided them with the opportunity to engage more fully in daily activities, education, and play, empowering them to live more independent lives.
Through this initiative, the JVR Foundation and its partners have made a lasting impact on the lives of Filipino children, demonstrating how international collaboration and the generosity of others can bring about meaningful change for those in need.
Tau’t Bato
The Tau’t Bato, meaning “people of the rock”, are an indigenous group residing in the remote Singnapan Valley in southern Palawan, Philippines. As a sub-group of the Palaw’an people, the Tau’t Bato are known for their seasonal migration between traditional huts and limestone caves, where they take shelter during the rainy season. Their deep connection to the land, nature-based way of life, and rich cultural heritage have been preserved through generations.
The Tau’t Bato rely on subsistence farming, hunting, and gathering, living in harmony with their environment. Their unique customs, oral traditions, and spiritual beliefs form the core of their identity.
Our Foundation is committed to supporting the Tau’t Bato in ways that uplift their well-being while fully respecting their cultural values, traditions, and autonomy. Through thoughtful engagement and collaboration, we aim to offer assistance—such as access to clean water, livelihood and education—without disrupting the essence of who they are.
We believe that meaningful support is not about changing their way of life, but about walking with them, hand in hand, toward a healthier and more secure future.
